(このブログはABMORIの取組を世界にも発信するため、日本語で掲載したブログ(11月17日掲載)を英文で掲載しています。)
Hello, everyone. We are the tree-planting sisters, Forest Protection Girl and Conservation Girl, unofficial
mascots of Nagano Prefecture.
Welcome to our second blog! In our first entry, we stated that ABMORI’s 2020 tree-planting activities had
been cancelled. However, we were able to hold an activity on October 15, 2020!
The activity was the ABMORI Seedling-Raising Project: Transplanting Seedlings Grown from Acorns, which
falls under “Growing” and “Planting” in the ABMORI System.
This time, the sixth-grade students of Yamanouchi Town Higashi Elementary School planted pin oak
seedlings, which had grown from acorns they sowed while in first grade.
Impressive! ABMORI is continuing to do its best to provide activities during the coronavirus pandemic,
following strict safety precautions. We sisters have a lot to learn from them too!
We hope the seedlings will grow up healthily, even during these difficult times.
Activity summary:
Tree name: Pin oak
Number of seedlings planted: 150
Year seeds were sown: Current sixth graders’ first-grade year
Location: Old Shiga Kogen Hasuike Ski Resort
To be continued.
