Welcome to Kamikochi in Nagano Prefecture, Japan!!
Hello everyone. I’m Darukuma, a staff member of the Nagano Prefectural Government, Japan.(Darukuma is my nickname.)
Let me tell you my favorite photogenic spots in Kamikochi, Japan.
(The best season is said to be from mid-May, for the fresh greenery🌿, to October , for the autumn leaves🍂. Closed in winter☃️.)
Let’s go!!

Kappa Bridge, near the Kamikochi bus terminal, is the most popular spot and a landmark in Kamikochi.
This beautiful sapphire blue is the Azusa River (Azusa gawa River).
The mountains visible from Kappa Bridge are part of the Japanese Alps(the Northern Alps), Hotaka Mountain Range.

◇ What is “Kappa”?
“Kappa” Bridge
This “Kappa” is not the global sports brand 🙅🏻♂️
The company’s logo (Kappa®) is known for “Taiiku Suwari Senaka Awase(in Japanese)”😝
“Kappa”, like a goblin , is a water spirit from Japanese folklore.
Possibly, you could come across a ‘Kappa’ near the bridge😁
At least you might see Japanese monkeys🐒 , also known as the snow monkey, nearby.
(Remember not to feed the monkeys and other wild animals to preserve this beautiful nature.)
One more… a summer photo
Great View!! Buena Vista!!
(This character is not “Kappa”! The name is “Arukuma”; Nagano Prefecture’s PR character. Thank you!! )
