In 2024, Richard relocated to Shimojo Village and began developing Silkura, a renovated historic storehouse that combines accommodation, cultural experiences, and community engagement. Through workshops led by local artisans and immersive stay programs, Silkura offers visitors the opportunity to experience the region’s traditional crafts and culture firsthand.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　Drawing on relationships that began nearly 30 years ago, Richard collaborates with local residents and craftspeople to create meaningful connections between travelers and the community.
